31 Days - 31 Books (days 4 & 5) - trinalin thinks things through
31 Days - 31 Books (days 4 & 5)
Alas, I slipped up and forgot to post yesterday. I actually did think of it after work, but didn't have the time. And then forgot after my evening of fun & frolic. (Went to see the Newton HS band & choir perform at state contest with mum. Both were excellent. Oh, and in between performances, we picked up dad and let him buy us Japanese food for supper.)

Day4 - Book you hate

When I first thought of an answer for this, I thought "I don't read books that I hate!" And then I remembered Eternity Weeps by Lawrence Miles from The New Adventures of Doctor Who series. Oh yeah, I hated that book. I even gave it a second chance. Didn't work for me the second time, either. And when I later read Miles' Bernice Summerfield novel, Dead Romance, I realized that Miles wasn't writing for me. (I think I disliked that book even more than EW (ewwww!).) So I've avoided all of his other books.

Day5 - A Book you can read again and again

There are several of these, but the first that pops into my mind is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Such a joy to read.

Day21 - most stupid book you read at school

Trying to catch up here at LJ--wow, that's a great list! I really need to reread all of HP again, too; I think the first time I kind of careened through it, desperate to find out what was going to happen next. ;)

It's hard for me to think of a book I hated too; just like you, I don't waste my time on books I don't like, though then I remembered how incredibly disappointed I was by Craig Ferguson's Between the Bridge & the River (did I write about this at SMAS or somewhere else already?) because I adore him, & was shocked to find it essentially unreadable. I may have to go back & read it again, just to confirm this, though that still didn't stop me from putting American On Purpose on my Amazon wish list (though partly because I suspect he might be more entertaining when writing autobiography instead of fiction).

Looking forward to Day 25 & finding out which main character is like you, in any case. :)

Heh - I haven't read all of the Meme bits yet, but maybe I should. #25 will require some thinking, just like #6 has. Still not sure if that's my best answer. :-)

Oh dear, Eternity Weeps was by Jim Mortimore, so Mad Larry can't be blamed for that one! I didn't hate it, as I recall, but it definitely upset me.

You are so right! Poor Mad Larry, getting the blame... Still, Dead Romance deserves all that ire* plus more, so I don't feel too bad for giving him the wrong credit.

*He actually made Chris unlikable! How do you do that?????
